One of our ALHS members purchased an old print of a bygone Appledore scene. Look closely and whilst the picture is definitely the canal, there is no pillbox to mar the view. Sheep calmly graze and our beautiful church nestles in the background.
Having asked one of the local artists to re-create the scene, which she did and donated to the parish, he then went on to ask our village art club if they would also like to invest some of their club time to do the same. The results are truly lovely so it was decided to share these pictures via our history website for all to see. We hope you like them as much as we do.
