On Saturday, 2nd March 2019, a VOLUNTEER WORK PARTY will undertake a clearance of vegetation at the CHURCHYARD & the CLOSED CEMETERY.
It would be greatly appreciated if you could spend some time between 09:00 am and 12:00 pm on that day. Please bring some gardening tools with you!
COMMUNITY CHEST DEMONSTRATION – On 28th April 2019, between 2-4.30 pm, in the Village Hall, we shall host a demonstration of the database containing varied historic information relating to Appledore, along with links to digitalised records that we have processed so far.
There will also be a slide show of many of the images that we have processed. Tea, Coffee and Cakes etc will be available. We shall re-confirm the date and advise the timing via Posters in the Village Notice Boards, the ALHS web site and the APC web site.
WAR MEMORIAL/REMEMBRANCE GARDEN – We are at the initial stages of seeking local opinion on the creation of a War Memorial/Remembrance Garden in Appledore.
If you have any thoughts at this stage on whether this is something that you would like to see, or not, suggestions of locations or designs, please do let us know.
An outline of our current thinking has been shared with APC and will be an agenda item at the next APC Meeting, currently scheduled for 4th March 2019.
